Club adds €20 million buyout clause to homegrown midfielder's contract extension
Club Atlético Osasuna has re-signed homegrown midfielder Iker Muñoz through June 30, 2030, a three-year extension to his previous contract. The club has included a €20 million buyout clause in LaLiga EA Sports. Muñoz and sporting director Braulio Vázquez are scheduled to hold a press conference next week.
Iker Muñoz Cameros (born Sept. 5, 2002, in Villafranca, Navarre) joined Osasuna at 16. Before joining the Rojillo Academy, Muñoz played for several Navarrese clubs, including Milagrés, San Adrián, Falcesino, and Oberena. He began with the Osasuna under-17 team in Liga Nacional and went on to spend two seasons with the under-19 squad before joining Osasuna Promesas, the club’s first affiliate, for two more years. In his second season, he was called up to the first team and made his senior debut. Since then, Muñoz has made 82 appearances—73 in LaLiga EA Sports, eight in Copa del Rey, and one in the Spanish Super Cup—and has scored four goals. He is now under contract for the remainder of this season and four more.
